Harry Jon Hair, Makeup & Training

Hey You!

I'll be training you... So here's how I went from 0 to full time career?

Well, let me start with...

I'm 26 years into my career as a hair and makeup artist -

I've worked with hundreds of brides and clients for weddings, nights out & events, created a variety of fancy dress and special effects for Halloween, I've tried out working in TV for ITV drama, music videos, I've been involved in the fast paced fashion week and a variety of bridal catwalks. I've worked on look-book photoshoots for fashion/bridal designers. I've ran my own salon and work at others. I've even worked on underwater photoshoots and created some crazy avant garde hair pieces.

The past 3 years, I've been focused on coaching.

Coaching the other hair and makeup artists to create client confidence, to be able to think on their feet and create any style - without the need of a helpful tutorial, whilst boosting their income.

I have an accredited hair course, breaking down everything i've learnt over the year, into an easy to follow, easy to create

'Simple Stylist Strategy'

HARRY JON HAIR, MAKEUP AND TRAINING AS FEATURED IN VOGUE, WEDDING IDEAS, POSTCARDS FROM BRIGHTON, HELLO, BRIDES, ROCK MY WEDDING, COSMO, SCRATCH, GLAMOUR, BRIDE,

"I'M NO ONE TRIP PONY"

To make sure you get the most out of my coaching, I've qualified with my Pttls course for further education too.

I hate to be pigeon holed into a cookie cutter artist that only does one look... That's not me at all.

In fact, when I started out, if you were a bridal makeup artist the industry didn't think you were good enough for fashion. Determined to make my mark and have a variety of work to keep my mind active, I designed 2 websites.

Clare Ardern for fashion and creative hair and makeup and an alias Harry Jon for bridal and every day.

Nowadays, it doesn't matter and as everyone now knows me well as Harry Jon - that stuck and the sites merged to one.

I still to this day remain as versatile as possible. Working with a massive variety of clients, each as individual as the next and I adapt what I've learnt to suit that client.

Working anywhere the adventure takes me.

If its creative and I can work it around my little family -

I'm there!

I had no idea what I wanted to do when I left school...

I come from a family of hairdressers, so my mum sat me down and said

'Look, I know its not right, right now. BUT why don't you do hairdressing? Its a trade. So you will always have that under your belt, if you decide not to do it later then fine but you can always have it to fall back on if you have children or something'

Wise words, because that's exactly what happened...

I took a hair and beauty course at Stockport College when I left school, I'd fall asleep in beauty but I definitely had the hair flair of the family.

We had one exciting day, actually, one hour of creating makeup and I made my friend look worse with it!

So, a note to anyone wanting to do become a hair and makeup artist and struggling - it will come with practice. I'm proof of that.

Years later, I'd go on to create Harry Jon, named after my late son, his cool name a reminder to keep going.

Now, I'm established, rich in knowledge, well into my 40's, its time to help you.

I'm here to build your confidence, empower and give you that little push to light you up.

Whatever you are here for - reach out - I'm here to help.
